Furnishing a Brand

Lorraine Osborne is a Totnes-based artist who wanted to start a new bespoke furniture business. She came to VU looking for someone to build a site that would capture the spirit of her artwork while making it easy for people to get in touch with her and commission furniture. Like the chairs that she creates the site needed to stand out with a quality design that was both functional and fun.

Solid framework

Starting from scratch VU created a solid framework for the website, with a simple and clear structure that makes it easy for visitors to navigate its pages. In addition to a page designed to generate leads for commissions an e-commerce store was created allowing visitors to purchase Lorraine Osborne products directly.

UX upholstery

A key feature of the new site is the user experience, utilising an interactive and responsive design along with strong imagery to guide visitors to their destination. Carefully art-directed and striking photography was an important part of the design which highlights the quality and artistry that goes into each piece, and also gives potential customers a sense of the artist’s personality.

Sitting pretty

The finished site fulfils the objectives set out in the original brief and gives Lorraine Osborne a solid platform on which she can grow her business. An easy-to-use content management system combined with training from the VU team means she will be able to build her business independently going forward while knowing VU will be there if help is needed.
