Branding

Chris Watson, creator of Matse, has over 25 years experience in the building and construction industry. He originally designed MatSe for his own loft space and after sharing his idea with a few people, he realised that this product would benefit families everywhere. The challenge Chris identified was that, although he had a solid product, he didn't have a solid brand platform to launch with.

Identity & Print Design

Ensuring the brand communicated 'simple and easy,' we focussed on creating an open look for the brand that creates visual space in the communications, both online and in print. To show off how Matse works and what makes it unique, we created an animation that shows the cut-away view of the loft, and steps the viewer through the easy hideaway nature of Matse.

Creating this open look, and solid brand platform with a consistent look across all communications has given Chris the confidence to approach his marketplace, and to create and add his own content to the mix.

Chris is now attending tradeshows and generating interest in the homes and DIY markets armed with everything he needs to make an impact before and after his product comes out of the wall.

Website Design & Build

Building a product and business is a lot of work, and going to market without having a branded design is a risky proposition. Matse was in desperate need of a professional image to fit their professional product and expertise. Chris also needed a website to show off his creation and easily demonstrate how Matse works.

Early on, Chris built a working Matse prototype. He also created a mocked-up loft space in profile to show buyers and manufacturers how MatSe works. But this large-scale demonstration posed some problems. Namely, how can you practically show a house-sized mock-up on a website?

In the space of the first meeting, Mark (our creative director) used the idea of the prototype to carry through into the website look and feel, creating a design and a brand look that supports the key propositions of the product.
