Unafraid of a good challenge, Vu stepped up to the requirements set out by Calegeo and worked quickly to develop a fully content-managed website, plus a brand identity that could stretch across the four operating businesses. In time, the brand identity would be applied to collateral beyond the websites.
Website Design & Build
Obviously, the biggest challenge to pulling off the brand identity was time. We needed to uncover a brand identifier that could represent Calegeo, and its sister companies: Calecore, Calefleet, Calesurvey.
We needed to create websites for each branch of the company, with separate domain names, but manage them all from one content management system. As the time frame for development was a matter of weeks, we set up our bespoke content management system VuCMS to handle the website content while the brand identity and website designs were created.
Sometimes, a tight timeline can work to your advantage. We immediately stood back and looked carefully at the businesses as a whole. We were able to quickly visualise the unifying link between them all. The unifying idea of the brand identity came from the rotation of the drill components that Calegeo uses.
We created a logo which shows a visual representation of these moving components. This style translated throughout the design to reflect the precision and nature of Calegeo's work. Using the idea of motion, we created an animated version of the logo using Flash technology to provide a compelling introduction to the Calegeo website.
After the initial push to get the identity and websites live, it was time roll out collateral for Calegeo and Calefleet.
Using the moving lines of the design, we created branded print collateral for the companies including report folders, business cards, specification sheets, and presentations.
